Tom Farnsworth
Tom has been with Jim Anderson and the Rebels since Jim started the group in early 2011. Tom has been a professional musician for over 55 years. He has gone as far as being the opening act for "big name" acts as well as sitting on a piano bench next to a new student, as a teacher.
Tom, or as he is better known in the Central California area, "Fingers" is the backbone of the group. He is musical director and does all of the arrangements for the band and any changes are allowed only with his approval. He puts together the concert Song Lists and continues to assure that the group matures and improves with every practice.
Tom leads the band at his church and even has his own ministry which serves retirement communities from Lodi to Turlock. He is avid in his volunteer work for many non-profit organizations. He loves "boogie" style music and bangs out the "rockabilly" style of every upbeat song that Jim sings. When it comes to ballads, Tom softens them with every touch of the keys. He is also the second part of the three-part harmony for the back-up singing.
"Tom is the father of this group. People always tell me, "It's your group, do what you want...", but I always to to Tom and ask him what the next best move, song, idea, lead, chorus, break, or whatever might be. He has a vast amount of experience and I feel he really puts all of us at the top of our game. I wouldn't be where I am right now in my career without him."
